This course begins with a study of the role of dynamics in the general physics of the atmosphere, the consideration of the differences between modeling and approximation, and the observed large-scale phenomenology of the atmosphere. Only then are the basic equations derived in rigorous manner. Each chapter ends with a set of exercises for which answers are given at the end of the book. an extension of the dynamical core from shallow- to deep-atmosphere dynamics and the. Atmosphere-Ocean Dynamics deals with a systematic and unified approach to the dynamics of the ocean and atmosphere. The book reviews the relationship of the ocean-atmosphere and how this system functions. The text explains this system through radiative equilibrium models; the book also considers the greenhouse effect, the effects of convection. In his book, John Green presents a unique personal insight into the fundamentals of fluid mechanics and atmospheric dynamics.
